Stephen
"Doc" Dibble
is Paradise Theatre's lead guitarist. He also plays keyboards and is our primary backup vocalist.
The Doc
began his search for the perfect instrument at age 10. After toying with
the violin and trumpet, he settled on the electric guitar at age 14.
Within 6
months of tutelage, he dropped the lessons in favor of the more
challenging method of learning the tunes by ear.
This
approach helped broaden his styles and has resulted in a musical journey
that spans over 20 years as well as many different genres and venues.
The
Doctor's influences include Neal Schon (Journey), Steve Lukather
(Toto), Steve Morse (Dixie Dregs, Kansas, Deep Purple), Gary Moore and of course,
Tommy Shaw and James "JY" Young of STYX.
For about 6 years
prior to joining Paradise Theatre, the Doctor had been turning heads with his
guitar mastery and vocals in the popular classic rock trio
Cosmo41, which has gigged all around Northern California.
Doc still
re-unites with Cosmo for shows here and there--you might catch their
show in the bay area from time to time. It's a must-see.
Before
moving to Rocklin from Livermore in 2003, Doc could be found on the road as a
merchandiser and touring with such acts as Aerosmith, Cheap Trick, Stone
Temple Pilots and Trust Company.
The doctor also brings incredibly strong vocals to the Paradise Theatre show.
Where
there is a wall of harmony from Tommy, Dennis and JY, you can expect
exactly that from Paradise Theatre as well. Doc is a big part of that capability
for us.
You're
definitely in for a spectacular treat on both guitar and vocals from
Doctor Dibrock.
