For more than 30 years, Styx has remained one of the greatest acts in rock
music.
Their trademark high-pitched harmonies, mixed with the dual-guitar
assault of James “J.Y.” Young and Tommy Shaw, the Panozzo brothers’
solid rhythm section and Dennis DeYoung’s soaring keyboards are
unmistakable.
Based in
Northern California, Paradise Theatre captures that sound exactly, in addition to
duplicating Styx’s high-energy live stage performances.
It takes a
special kind of musician to take on Styx’s often complex and difficult
music, and Paradise Theatre offers the best of the best-- many members of the band
have national touring experience.
Paradise Theatre’s
lead singer,
Cameron Landers
flawlessly recreates both
Dennis DeYoung's and Tommy Shaw’s impressive vocals, while keyboardist
Brett Minkin
thrills audiences using
a small mountain of synthesizers to reproduce DeYoung’s famous
keyboards.
Lead
guitarist
Stephen "Doc" Dibble
nails the complex guitar riffs that made Tommy and JY guitar gods and
produces the signature vocoder effects that complete the Styx sound with precision and splendor.
Rounding out
the band, driving the beat and bottom end is the thunderous rhythm section of
drummer
Dan Sablan
and blasting bass guitar and backing vocals from
Paul "BiggFigg" Knutsen.
With the
Doctor's masterful guitar solos, Brett Minkin providing the signature
keyboards Styx fans love and Cameron Landers nailing Dennis and Tommy's voices,
Paradise Theatre pumps out the Styx hits with a wall of colorful, distinctive
sound that instantly excites audiences to cheers.
Paradise Theatre
truly takes you beyond reminiscence and into a full-on re-creation of the
power and majesty that was, and still is, a classic Styx rock show
wherever they’re playing. You’ll not find a better Styx tribute anywhere.
